§ 21-33. License issuance; fee; duration; renewal; transferability.

Latest version.
  • (a)

Upon determination that the applicant complies with the requirements of this article, and upon payment of the annual licensing fee hereinafter prescribed, the Webster Parish Communications District Board shall, subject to the other provisions hereof, issue an ambulance operator's license to the applicant.

    (b)

No license shall be issued until the applicant shall have paid a license fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) to the parish for the privilege of engaging in the ambulance business in and upon the public roads, streets and thoroughfares of the parish. Each license issued hereunder shall be valid for one (1) calendar year, with renewals thereafter valid for one (1) calendar year. Licenses shall be renewed for the subsequent calendar year by submitting an application to the Webster Parish Communications District Board during the month of November and payment of a renewal fee of fifty dollars ($50.00). Renewal applications may also be made during the month of December, but must be accompanied by an additional twenty-five dollar ($25.00) late fee. Any licensee failing to make proper application for renewal by December 31 will not be allowed to renew and must apply for a license as a new applicant. The amount of the license fee herein prescribed shall not be prorated for fractional parts of the calendar year, nor shall it relieve the operator from the necessity of obtaining state or parish occupational license or any other requirement established by law. Licenses issued hereunder shall not be transferable or assignable without the consent of the Webster Parish Communications District Board. Termination or transfer of ownership of a licensed ambulance business shall automatically void the license thereof.
