§ 16-203. Purpose.

The purpose for the creation of said communications district is the establishment of an enhanced emergency 911 service as authorized pursuant to the applicable provisions of Title 33, Chapter 31, of the Louisiana Revised Statutes. The emergency telephone system shall be designed to have the capability of utilizing at least one (1) of the four (4) methods set forth in the referenced statute in response to emergency calls, and the board of commissioners (the governing authority of the communications district) shall select the method that it determines to be the most feasible for the parish.
