§ 13-6. Fortunetelling.

  • (a)

    "Fortunetelling" is for the purpose of this section, hereby defined as the reading, forecasting, or pretending to a knowledge of futurity, regardless of the manner or the principles employed, whereby one's fortune or the events of one's life are foretold.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person, partnership, firm, or corporation to, in any manner, hold one's self out and/or advertise as being engaged in, engage in, or otherwise in any manner practice fortunetelling in Webster Parish, Louisiana.

    (c)

    Whoever shall violate any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction, shall be fined a sum of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00), or imprisoned for not more than thirty (30) days, or both.
