§ 9-38. Commercial hauler's permits.

  • (a)

    Required; fee. Any commercial hauler desiring to furnish such services within the parish shall obtain a permit for such activity from the office of the parish police jury. The fee for such a permit shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) annually, due and payable on or before January first of each year. The total fee shall be charged for a full year or any part thereof.

    (b)

    Description of equipment. Prior to the issuance of a permit, the applicant shall furnish a description of all equipment to be used in the operation, including make, model, serial number, license number, and the capacity in cubic yards of the disposal units. Any change in the equipment shall be reported to the parish administrator/engineer within fifteen (15) days after such change has been made. All such equipment shall meet all of the requirements of the sanitary code of Louisiana and the state board of health.

    (c)

    Nontransferable; nonrefundable. All permits shall be non-transferable and shall be nonrefundable in the event of cancellation.

    (d)

    Authority of parish administrator. The parish administrator/engineer shall be vested with the authority to issue or revoke all permits in accordance with this article. In the event permit is denied or revoked, the applicant may, upon request within ten (10) days of notice of denial or revocation, be granted a hearing by the police jury.
