§ 21-31. Licensing procedure; investigation of applicant.

  • Upon receipt of an application for an operator's license, the Webster Parish Communications District Board shall make or cause to be made an investigation of the character and reputation of the applicant and his ability to perform the services of an operator, the financial responsibility of the applicant to respond in damages or to pay claims for personal injury, death and property damage arising from his operation; and such other items as the Webster Parish Communications District Board may deem relevant in determining the fitness of the applicant to be granted an operator's license. Initial applicants must include complete financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements for a period of not less than two (2) years. The Webster Parish Communications District Board staff will review the applications and make recommendations to the Webster Parish Communications District Board. The Webster Parish Communications District Board shall render a decision on issuance of the license within thirty (30) days of receipt of the application for same, provided however, that the period shall be extended by such additional time as may be required for the applicant to furnish and the Webster Parish Communications District Board to review information required to complete an otherwise incomplete application or for the applicant to supply additional relevant information requested by the Webster Parish Communications District Board staff to adequately accomplish its investigation.
