§ 18-2. Use of unmuffled engine brakes prohibited.

(a)

The use of unmuffled compression brakes and/or "straight pipes" on Webster Parish Roads that have been designated as no unmuffled compression brakes and/or straight pipes areas of the Parish of Webster are hereby prohibited.

(b)

Specifically designated areas of Webster Parish Road under this section and will be advertised in the newspaper of the location to be an area that prohibits the use of unmuffled compression brakes and/or "straight pipes".

(1)

The Timothy Church Road.

(2)

The Pitts Road.

(3)

LA Hwy 79 east of the Minden city limits just past the "Speed Zone Ahead" sign for 2,300 feet east.

(c)

The provisions of this section shall not apply to emergency vehicles or equipment.

(d)

Any person found guilty of violating the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment within the discretion of the court.
