§ 16-251. Establishment of the district.

(a)

The Pine Country Education Center District is hereby formed as a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana pursuant to Louisiana R.S. 40:1551, hereinafter sometimes referred to as the district. This district encompasses and includes the geographical limits of Webster Parish Louisiana.

(b)

The purpose of the Pine Country Education Center District shall be to maintain and operate a well-equipped educational and training institution or facility to teach and train fire fighting and emergency services personnel and other related matters.

(c)

The district shall coordinate such efforts with the Louisiana State University Fire and Emergency Training Institute, through the Office of Academic Affairs, to prevent duplication of efforts and duplication of cost, and to insure standardization in accordance with R.S. 40:1541 et sec. In addition, all aspects of the training, including but not limited to personnel, participants, programs and courses, shall be certified by and through the Fire and Emergency Training Institute at Louisiana State University.
