Article IX. WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT |
§ 16-232. Establish.
To insure, through a cooperative effort, the safety and security of drinking water supply for present and future generations of Webster Parish citizens.
To be accountable to the citizens of Webster Parish through their duly elected representatives, the Webster Parish Police Jury, as well as state and federal source water authorities.
To develop strategies and solutions to enhance source water delivery and protection for Webster Parish.
To develop funding to accomplish positive goals which will improve source water delivery and enhance economic growth and development for Webster Parish.
To increase public awareness through education for water conservation and source water protection.
To develop and maintain a representative leadership role for Webster Parish concerning regional, state, and federal governing bodies resulting from source water legislation.
To develop education, training and research to provide factual information concerning ground water and surface source of water.
To develop and maintain a working relationship with public service agencies concerned with source water delivery and protection, i.e.

•
LA Department of Health and Hospitals
•
LA Department of Environmental Quality
•
LA Department of Transportation and Development
•
Dorcheat Soil and Water Conservation Service
