§ 14-21. Same—Powers and duties.

  • (a)

    The powers and duties of [the] regional planning commission shall be as provided by law, particularly Act 239 of 1956 [R.S. 33:131 et seq.] of the State of Louisiana. The Webster Parish police jury does hereby designate the Minden Regional Planning Commission as the parish planning commission for the portion of Webster Parish lying within the regional planning area as defined herein and agree that the Minden Regional Planning Commission shall have all the powers and functions relating to making, adopting, amending and adding to the master plan of the City of Minden and that part of ward four (4) [as such ward existed on June 4, 1957; a description of ward four (4) is given in paragraph (b) below] lying within the regional planning area as provided or granted by R.S. 33:101 through 119, inclusive, or by other laws applicable to the planning commission of the municipality or parish.

    (b)

    [Ward No. four (4) of Webster Parish, Louisiana, as it existed on June 4, 1957 is more particularly described as follows: Begin at a point on the boundary line between Webster and Claiborne Parishes at a point where the township line between townships 20 and 21 intersect said line and run west to the center of Dorcheat Bayou thence run in a southerly direction along the center line of Dorcheat Bayou and Lake Bistineau to a point where Brushy Creek empties into Lake Bistineau thence run in a northeasterly direction along the center of Brushy Creek to a point where Brushy Creek intersects the township line between townships 18 and 19 at the southeast corner of Section 31, Township 19 North, Range 8 west, thence run east to the east boundary line of Webster Parish, Louisiana, thence run north along the east boundary line of Webster Parish, Louisiana, to the northeast corner of Section 21, Township 20 North, Range 8 West, thence run west three (3) miles north, thence along the Webster and Claiborne parish line to the point of beginning].
