§ 6-18. Marking of dipped animals; seizure of unmarked cattle after notice.

  • The several inspectors of the Parish of Webster shall have the authority to paint or otherwise mark, all cattle, horses or mules, for the purpose of distinguishing either before or after being dipped, the dipped from the undipped; provided, that any person, or persons, who shall resist, or otherwise interfere with, any inspector in the painting or marking of cattle, horses or mules, for the purposes aforesaid, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished as hereinafter provided [in section 6-22]. Provided further, that all inspectors of the Parish of Webster commissioned by the Louisiana State Livestock Sanitary Board shall be authorized and required to seize, dip and impound any cattle not so painted or marked when, in the opinion of the federal supervising inspector, such cattle should have been regularly and systematically dipped and the owner of such cattle has been previously served with an official dipping notice; provided further, that cattle so seized, dipped and impounded shall be held for costs of such seizure, dipping and impounding, and shall be disposed of as provided in section [6-17].
