§ 3-27. Definitions.

As used in this [division] unless the context clearly requires otherwise:

(1)

Airport means the Minden Airport located approximately two (2) miles north-northwest of the center of the Town of Minden.

(2)

Airport hazard means any structure or tree or use of land which obstructs the air space required for the flight of aircraft in landing or taking off at the airport or is otherwise hazardous to such landing or taking off of aircraft.

(3)

Nonconforming use means any structure, tree or use of land which does not conform to the regulations prescribed in this [division].

(4)

Person means any individual, firm, copartnership, corporation, company, association or body politic, and includes any trustee, receiver, assignee or other similar representative thereof.

(5)

Structure means any object constructed or installed by man, including but without limitation, buildings, towers, smokestacks, overhead transmission lines and the like.

(6)

Landing area means the area of the airport used by the landing, taking off or taxiing of aircraft.

(7)

Tree means any object of natural growth.

(8)

Map means Minden Airport Zoning Map, Louisiana Department of Public Works' Drawing File No. A-226-1, dated September, 1956, and made a part of this [division].

(9)

Airport hazard area means any area of land or water upon which an airport hazard might be established if not prevented as provided in this [division].
