§ 19-4. Health regulations.

  • No trailer camp shall be operated or conducted in the Parish of Webster, Louisiana, without complying with the following regulations, to wit:

    (1)

    Water supply. Water for such camps must be from a supply examined and approved by the parish board of health. If water used in said camps is from wells, such wells must be constructed with approved concrete curbing and slab. Each well must be properly covered and fitted with an approved pump. Open and/or nonself-priming pumps are not approved. The use of buckets and ropes or similar type equipment to draw water is herewith declared unsafe and not permissible.

    (2)

    Excreta disposal. All trailer camps must be provided with adequate facilities for the disposal of excrement. Such facilities shall be either water flush toilets connected with approved sanitary sewer or septic tank system or approved sanitary pit privies. Same shall be located within two hundred (200) feet of the farthest occupant of said trailer camp and there shall be at least one (1) toilet seat for each twenty-five (25) persons of each sex and also one (1) urinal for each men's toilet. The sexes shall be separated and properly marked. Those trailer camps located within three hundred (300) feet of a sewer shall connect thereto. All plumbing in trailer camps shall comply with the state plumbing code, its rules and regulations.

    (3)

    Garbage disposal. Each trailer parked in said trailer camp must be supplied with covered steel garbage cans with cover kept on at all times, except when being used for the purpose of putting in or taking out garbage.

    (4)

    Dishwater. A covered pit shall be provided for dishwater, which pit shall be located at a safe distance from the well or water supply, and all dishwater shall be emptied into said pit.

    (5)

    Dogs. Dogs at no time shall be permitted to run at large on the premises of any trailer camp space.
