§ 17-43. License tax.

  • (a)

    All itinerant merchants and/or peddlers, as defined by L.R.S. 47:342(8), who have no permanent place of business in the Parish of Webster, shall obtain an occupational license and pay the appropriate occupational license of one hundred dollars ($100.00) to be obtained from the Webster Parish Sales Tax Commission whose address is 1128 Homer Road, Minden, Louisiana 71055.

    (b)

    The application for and issuance of said license shall be done in accordance with and subject to the Webster Parish Sales Tax licensing procedure requirements as authorized by the Webster Parish Police Jury.

    (c)

    The license shall require the following information:

    (1)

    Business name, telephone number, physical address and email address.

    (2)

    Description of the product or service and copy of item(s) to be peddled; or description of the cause for which money is being collected.

    (3)

    Applicant or sponsor name, business telephone number, cellular phone number, previous events in Webster Parish, date of application, e-mail address, physical address.

    (4)

    Criminal background report from local agency.

    (5)

    Better Business Bureau report form local agency.

    (6)

    Date(s) of activity in Webster Parish.

    (7)

    Hours of operation, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

    (8)

    Location and schedule of peddling and panhandling.

    (9)

    Number of peddlers or panhandlers per day, number of time/days(s).

    (10)

    Staff—Name of local coordinator, cellular phone number, local address, number of on-site staff members.

    (11)

    If license granted, permittee shall wear a visible name tag with photo displaying company name, individual name, date issued and license number issued by Webster Parish Sales Tax Commission.
