§ 16-254. Director of the district.

The board of commissioners shall appoint a director of the district. The director shall serve as secretary-treasurer of the board of commissioners, but shall not have a vote on the board unless the director is also serving a dual capacity as a board member. The director shall serve at the pleasure of the board and may be removed at any time by majority vote of the board. The director shall assume full responsibilities as director of the district, and may receive a salary fixed by the board, as it deems appropriate. The board may appoint such staff as are necessary to assist the director in the operation of the district, as the board deems necessary.
