§ 16-122. Same—Governing body; first commissioners, meeting; officers.

The recreation district created hereunder shall be governed by a board of five (5) commissioners, who shall be qualified voters and residents of the area covered by the district, and the initial five (5) persons to serve as commissioners are hereby appointed by this police jury as follows:

Johnny Thompson, Cullen, Louisiana       One year

J. W. Parker, Cullen, Louisiana       Two years

Carlton Martin, Cullen, Louisiana       Three years

Ida Pearl Monroe, Cullen, Louisiana       Four years

Amos White, Cullen, Louisiana       Five years

The first meeting of the said board of commissioners shall be held at 6:00 p.m., January 15, 1974, at its regular meeting place, which shall be the mayor's office, Cullen, Louisiana. At said first meeting the board of commissioners shall elect one of its members chairman and one of its members vice-chairman. Other meetings of the board shall be held at such time and place as specified by the call of the chairman of the board or by resolution of the board of commissioners. At the first meeting the board of commissioners shall select one person as secretary-treasurer, one person for each of the positions, who shall not be a member of the board, but shall be a qualified voter and resident of the district.
